In could 2010, my Filipina pal and i made a decision to go to Hong Kong for just a few days.We have been on a decent finances and we needed a change from the standard excessive-priced accommodations in Kowloon. We decided to remain at a hostel, an inexpensive lodge which they have everywhere in the world for price range minded travelers.
We went to Chung king mansion- a block lengthy area where most of the hostels are located in Hong kong.We booked a room at the apple hostel .It was an amazing decision - we shared a single room- no frills - just a shower, a bed and a tv.It price around 35 Hong Kong dollars a night. 10 american dollars. We saved a fortune on our resort bill.we only went back to our room to sleep anyway. The relaxation of the time, we had been out having enjoyable with the sights of Hong Kong. The rooms have been totally safe. The staff had put sturdy locks on all the doors.
All of the rooms had high-speed internet access for your laptop. I made good use of that. The rooms have been cleaned each day and it was very quiet for sleeping at night. There have been about 15 hostels in a sq. block on Nathan highway in kowloon .All of them had been about the same price. The massive lobby area had an office for wiring money,a currency change and each sort of restaurant and shop you may assume of.
There were a vast variety of people staying there from everywhere in the world. A whole lot of the folks there were from africa and the middle east.
We stayed there for about 4 days.We really enjoyed our stay .Chung king mansion is close to all transportation and is positioned close to the star ferry to Hong Kong island.
We will certainly keep there again if we return to Hong Kong. My opinion about hostels has undoubtedly changed .It isn't only for backpackers-it's for all people who wish comfy lodging at 1 / 4 of the value of a big "identify" hotel.
