Motels tips for finding safe and well protected while traveling

Some people travel for a living as a sales job while there are others that vacations and the occasional traveler who travels a few times a year. For some reason you travel all have one thing in common and to find a nice, quiet and safe to put your head at night, a nice budget hotel. It is important to find the correct or may be at risk to their safety.

Here are some tips on what to look for when you're on the road.

* Is the area well lit? I want to stay in a neighborhood that is poorly lit or boarded up, and finally building near where you see wandering groups of young people, these are usually gangs or gang members.
* Are there motels nearby? You may not want to stay in an area where there is only one motel. Usually grouped motels or at least be very close to each other.
* Is the motel a well known name? Always try to choose motels that have names you've heard. Search for the string of motels. Some may have different names, but the name of the same chain or owners.
* Is the right of the highway? You should not find a motel that is out of the beaten track. Most motels with good names off the freeway or close to it. Do not drive too deep into a neighborhood to find a motel.
* If the rooms accessible from outside the motel? This is very important and usually look for motels that will have to go through the lobby to get to your room or a key to enter the outer doors to access your room. If you can access your room from outside the motel so can others. Do not get me wrong you can find good rooms and motels with names that have these exterior rooms. You have to use your own discretion here.
* Is the cost of the room too low to be true? Do not save a few dollars in a room that offers only what you paid. A lot of motels have extras like a breakfast bar, gyms, swimming pools or other free extras.
* Are there security cameras on the premises? Most motels have known that these cameras to protect as well as you. This is an important feature.
* Are the professional staff? Look to see if employees wear uniforms and act or speak the jargon of the business. Do not go with tattoos or nose rings or employees are not at all.
* Is the room in a college town? I know this sounds petty, but if you think about it a lot of college students to rent motel rooms on weekends and party so be aware of it.
